HOLEGAMO

HoLeGaMo: Research and development of an efficient high-performance gas engine for industrial use in stationary and non-stationary applications.

The aim of the project is to have a monovalent natural gas engine using the gasoline engine combustion process as a prime mover for heavy industrial use by the end of the project. An energy-efficient and very low-emission combustion process (better than EU Stage IV and Stage V) with a high power density (approx. 30 kW / dmĀ³) is to be developed. Compared to diesel engines, gasoline engines have a significantly higher fuel consumption, especially when they are under partial engine load. This consumption disadvantage should be minimized by using an intelligent valve control. The new types of valves from NONOX enable almost throttle-free load control and thus a significant improvement in thermodynamic efficiency. As part of the project, it is planned to set up a demonstrator and to measure it on the basis of engine test bench tests to validate the specifications.
